Out and about

Our world is a melting pot and this makes it so fascinating. We always want to find out more information about people and countries, technology and gadgets, animals and environment etc. Since travelling to different places is not always possible, we resort to various solutions, like reading or watching documentaries.

The fifth graders in our school thought of making interesting projects about the countries they would like to visit some day: Italy, Spain, France, the U.S.A., Brazil, Germany or UK. They gathered information on people, traditions, sports, food, cultural personalities, museums and buildings which are representative to the above-mentioned countries. Then they shared the things they had read with their classmates and showed pictures.

Thus, like magic, the English class turned into an imaginary journey to faraway places and the gloomy November weather suddenly seemed warmer and more cheerful.

Is junk food any good?

This is a question that many children ask. More and more parents forbid their kids to eat at fast food restaurants.

Pizza, hamburgers, shakes and other things they sell in those restaurants or pizza parlors have a lot of unhealthy additives that make them taste delicious, besides ketchup, mustard, mayonnaise or cream.

The more you eat, the more you like them. That’s why a lot of kids are overweight or even obese.

Food is necessary for children to grow, but we all should eat healthy products, rich in vitamins, especially fruit and vegetables. If we pay attention to our diet, we’ll surely have a healthy mind in a healthy body.

We all should eta healthy products.
